New Park in Lakeland, FL - Common Grounds Park

It's been awhile. I know. And, to be honest ... I don't really have a whole lot to say STILL.

However, we have gathered up a few pictures along the way that I'll be happy to share with you guys.

I hope you enjoy them.

These first shots are from a new park here in Lakeland ... called the Common Grounds Park. They actually did a really good job designing this park.

There's lots of things for the kids to do.

One important point:

I suggest going on the weekdays. During the weekend - the place is PACKED.

Talk soon!

Al

We will take you there! It is only like 5 minuets away from us. We have only gone there during the school hours because the weekends and evenings are packed! Even during the school hours it is fuller than you would think. But I am sure that in December the locals will think that it is too cold to take the little ones out so it should be quiet!

How much does it cost to get in?

Thanks so much for visiting, and for your question. We have been wanting to add a little more about this park, but we haven't visited much since our move down to south Lakeland.

However, I did put up a new post that talks covers more details about the park here:

As far as costs, there are no costs to get into the park. And currently, parking is free along the Edgewood side of the park (right next to the tennis courts).

If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Thanks!

are they open during certain hours, or are they open all the time?

Thanks for dropping us your comment!

I am not exactly sure about the hours that the park is open for use? I believe it is a daylight only park - so that it opens up with the sun in the morning, and then they close it at dusk. There is a fence around the park, and there is a gate that closes off the park. So, I definitely think they empty it out after dark.

As far as I know, no one group can rent or reserve the entire park. So it is always open to the public. However, they do have covered pavilions that individuals or groups can rent out for events.

I can't say this for sure, but I think this is true.
Please let us know if you have any other questions, and we'll try and run for help.
